Henrietta is a Registered Nurse, Senior Lecturer and Academic Lead with the Department of Nursing – Te Tari Tapuhi, University of Otago, in Ōtautahi – Christchurch.
Having worked in the disability sector for coming up to 30 years, her current mahi, through teaching and research nationally and internationally, focuses on equitable access to health and disability services across the lifespan for people with learning (intellectual) and developmental disabilities with a particular interest in healthy ageing and workforce development.
Alongside colleagues, she was a founding member and is Chair of the National Disability Nurses Branch which was welcomed into Te Ao Māramatanga – New Zealand College of Mental Health Nurses in 2018. Henrietta is: Co-Chair for the Canterbury Disability Provider’s Network, Honorary Research Associate, Victoria University Wellington – Te Herenga Waka, Aotearoa NZ Divisional Committee for ASID (Australasian Society for Intellectual Disability), Committee Member- IASSIDD (International Association for the Scientific Study of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities) Health SIRG (Special Interest Research Group), is on the Aotearoa NZ Divisional Committee and is a Director of the ASID Board (Australasian Society)
Interests for this Aunty include keeping up with a large extended whānau, walking on the beach, reading fiction, crafting, and travelling.
