Mō tō mātou rōpū – About Our Team

We are a passionate and enthusiastic team with a commitment to providing excellent services in assessment and intervention services with infants, children and young people alongside their whanau/ family with moderate to severe mental health concerns. We have a diverse population and are passionate in co working alongside other teams in mental health & the Community.  We are dedicated as a team to improving access for young people of all ages and working together with whanau; to achieve this we operate within a Choice and Partnership Approach (CAPA).  We are keen to be innovative and are developing a new team. Moū – About you

The preferred applicant will be innovative, passionate, have previous mental health experience or be willing to learn about CAMHS, work comfortably with multiple clinical presentations, be willing to learn and be involved in developing a service that benefits the client, their family and the staff working with them. You would preferably have experience, passion and interest for working with infants, children and young people as well as being a team player, be self motivated and work well creating a collaborative space in a demanding service. An interest or experience in group work, DBT, family therapy, trauma or sensory modulation skills will be highly valued. Training for all staff is supported and highly valued.

DUTIES 

We are seeking a registered mental health nurse who can bring a variety of skills, passion and expertise including:

  • assessment and treatment of infants, children, young people and their families 

  • risk assessment and management 

  • group facilitation work

  • multi-disciplinary team working

  • community liaison

  • discipline specific skills.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE 

  • This role is open to a Registered Mental Health Nurse who has skills and expertise, or a passion to learn about, working with children, adolescents and their families, bi-cultural and multi-cultural work practices, and community liaison.

  • The ideal applicant will have experience in the child and adolescent mental health sector and a proven ability of working within a multi-disciplinary team. 

  • You will hold a professional qualification and registration with the relevant professional body and a current annual practicing certificate.
