2026 Mental Health Bill Passed
Mental Health Bill 2026 – Passed its third reading
We’re pleased to see the Mental Health Bill pass its third reading in Parliament. This marks an important step towards a mental health system that better supports people’s rights, recovery, and involvement in decisions about their care, while strengthening the role of whānau and safeguards for those receiving compulsory treatment.
A meaningful milestone for mental health reform in Aotearoa New Zealand.
