Kōrero mō te tūranga – About the role

We are seeking a Kai Manaaki / Registered Health Professional to work with our young Maori clients and their whanau. Key aspects of the role include:

• Providing effective care management and key work based on kaupapa Maori principles. 
• Working with community for the benefit of tangata whaiora and their whanau
• Ensuring optimal engagement with our Maori clients and whanau 
• Developing and facilitating groups for clients and whanau as needed 
• Supporting the team in delivering a service based on matauranga Maori 

Mō tō mātou rōpū – About our team

The Early Intervention Service is a multi-disciplinary team and offers assessment and treatment to young people (13-25)  who are experiencing psychosis for the first time.

We aim to offer a bicultural, client centred, strengths based and collaborative support programme. The team are inspired by the recovery–focused framework laid out in the book Recovery after a first episode of psychosis. In addition, we are guided by an evolving set of principles to ensure we deliver a service which is truly bicultural and optimised to achieve equity for our Maori clients. 

The team regularly evaluates our outcomes allowing us to constantly adjust, improve and innovate the services we provide. 

We will support you in clinical supervision, career pathway, cultural interventions and ongoing training.

Moū – About you

We are seeking an energetic individual who enjoys working within a team and who is passionate about working with young Maori and their whanau.  Our ideal kaimanaaki is able to adopt creative and holistic ways of assisting our tangata whaiora to recover from a first episode of psychosis. 

Experience in delivering mental health service and a current practising certificate and registration are essential, as is a current full drivers licence.
