Te Ao Māramatanga extends its warm congratulations to fellow members Dr Anne Brebner and Toni Dal Din following the Ministry of Health’s announcement of interim leadership arrangements for the Director of Mental Health and Addiction Services role.

As Dr John Crawshaw prepares to retire later this year, Dr Anne Brebner, currently Chief Clinical Advisor at the Ministry of Health, will assume the role of Acting Director of Mental Health and Addiction Services from 27 November. She will be supported by Toni Dal Din, Deputy Director of Mental Health, while recruitment for a permanent Director continues.

We are proud to see fellow members entrusted with these significant national leadership responsibilities during an important period for the sector. Their extensive experience and dedication will help ensure continuity of leadership and ongoing support for mental health and addiction services throughout the transition.

Te Ao Māramatanga also acknowledges and thanks Dr John Crawshaw for his significant contribution to the mental health and addiction sector over many years. We wish him well for his retirement and thank him for his service to the people, whānau, and communities of Aotearoa.
