As a neehi Māori I have worked in Mental Health Services for the past 30 years in various nursing roles.  My mahi includes experience in clinical roles with Māori Mental Health Services, Crisis Assessment and Treatment Teams, Mental Health-Tele Triage Teams and as a Nurse Educator for a Mental Health New Graduate Programme (NESP).

I am currently working as a Senior Advisor Māori Health Team – Mental Health and Addictions Lead for Ara Poutama Aotearoa – Department of Corrections. I have been working for this organisation for the past four years as a neehi Māori both in community services and in the facilities, supporting people with their mental health and addiction needs.

I am the current Treasurer for Te Ao Māramatanga Māori Caucus. I also hold the role of Registrar for the College. I have held a previous role as Kaiwhakahaere for the College.

I am passionate about my mahi in mental health in supporting the mental health and wellbeing of people in care and their whānau. As the Māori Caucus Treasurer I am privileged to support ngā whānau Māori of the Māori Caucus and to support neehi Māori working in mental health, addiction and disability services to thrive and flourish.
