Alcohol and Other Drug Court - Hamilton

Community MH Nurse, AOD Clinician or Social Worker

Where you’ll be working: Alcohol and Other Drug Court
The details: Permanent – 80 hours per fortnight


Exciting opportunity to be part of a newly established health and wellbeing service based in the Hamilton Court.  

About the role:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate health professional who will:
•    Provide wellbeing screening and brief interventions to people attending court and their whānau,
•    Conduct comprehensive AOD assessments for the court.

You will be working alongside one other colleague, but also be part of the wider CADS team.

Required skills & experience:
•    Be a registered health professional and hold NZ registration in your chosen field
•    Minimum 4 years addiction work experience
•    Post graduate qualifications in addiction 
•    Ability to apply Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles into practice and work to reduce inequities for Māori
•    Proven experience of utilising screening tools and providing brief interventions 
•    Strong communication skills 
•    Ability to engage with people from all backgrounds 
•    A current full NZ drivers licence.

A high level of understanding of Tikanga Māori and ability to speak Te Reo would be advantageous.
