Overview

The Addiction Nursing Branch invites you to this two-session webinar focusing on meeting the needs of people affected by substance use that frequently co-exists with other health, education and socio-cultural issues.

In the first session, in accord with the importance of listening to the people with the experience, Rhonda Robertson, Principal Advisor – Lived Experience & Peer Project Lead (Addiction), Te Pou, will provide a lived experience perspective and key messages for nursing. In her leadership roles, she is a strong an advocate for building and strengthening addiction expertise. Her current role includes co-presenting addiction content from a lived experience perspective in the University of Auckland’s New Entry to Specialist Practice Mental Health and Addiction. Members of the Addiction Nursing Branch will respond to Rhonda’s perspective and further the conversation.

In the second session, taking into account Rhonda’s perspective and key messages, a panel of members of the Addiction Nurses Branch will talk from their experience and highlight future nursing directions. The panel will include nurses from a range of settings and experiences.

In both sessions, there will be time for participant comments and we encourage you to think of questions and comments.
